Underoath and Dance Gavin Dance - Niagara Falls, NY

Underoath is back! Right after the release of their new album "Erase Me," the band has embarked on their first cross-country tour since their reunion a couple years ago, making a stop in Niagara Falls, NY. The Florida rockers are joined this time by Limbs, Veil of Maya, and Dance Gavin Dance. Despite taking some time off for self re-evaluation, the guys haven’t lost a beat on-stage. It’s also worth noting that this is the band’s first album with original drummer Aaron Gillespie back behind the kit since 2008’s Lost In The Sound of Separation. His onstage chemistry with lead vocalist Spencer Chamberlain had been sorely missed in his brief absence, leading up to the band’s hiatus.

The long awaited return of Underoath was met with tons of energy as the Rapids Theatre was alive with a sea of passionate fans, excited to hear old favorites, while welcoming the Erase Me’s new additions to the set list. “On My Teeth” and “Rapture” got great responses, but it’s tough to top the reception of staples like “It’s Dangerous Business...” and “A Boy Brushed Red...”.

The crowd seemed just as filled with Dance Gavin Dance fans, since they had no trouble warming up the Niagara Falls crowd.

As a long time fan, it was great to see Underoath back out killing it live. Erase Me, Underoath’s most honest release to date, is an attempt to not only please the fan base, but the band as well. It’s clear that their passion has been re-affirmed for doing what they love on stage.
